Brinio-class gunboat

Brinio-class gunboat

Throughout the early 20th century until the collapse of its empire in the East Indies, the Dutch navy prioritised the use of light and medium warships, partially out of concern for cost, and also out of necessity — the locations where the Dutch navy expected to operate would include shallow sea and archipelagos, which were ideal for light warships.

The Brinio class comprised three vessels laid down shortly before the First World War, and all three of them the Brinio, Friso and Gruno — had a career which spanned less than 30 years, ending with their destruction during the Second World War.

If you work with a game engine like Spring or 0AD, fret not. We are planning for a Collada-ed soon.
